BRIAN HALL, PRESIDENT
Brian started with A-TEC Energy in 1993. He started out performing commercial and industrial energy audits and was brought into the corporate management in 1996. Today, Brian is responsible for overall corporate management, financial and risk management. Brian works closely with A-TEC Energy staff on special projects and provides support as needed for ongoing projects. Brian has a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering and Physics from Loras College and attended Graduate School at Iowa State University studying Material Science and Nanotechnology. Having been in the energy efficiency business for the past 19 years, Brian brings a unique perspective to this growing field. Brian is a long-standing member of AESP (Association of Energy Services Professionals), ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers), AEE (Association of Energy Engineers), ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers), NSPE (National Society of Professional Engineers), IES (Iowa Engineering Society), and IAEE (Iowa Association for Energy Efficiency) past President and Board member.
BILL VON DER LINDE, PROGRAM MANAGER AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Bill joined A-TEC Energy in 2011. Bill is tasked with new business development for A-TEC Energy. Additionally he oversees the implementation of the Residential New Construction, Home Performance with Energy Star and SAVE quality installation programs for investor-owned utilities and is a Certified Building Analyst, HERS rater and is SAVE certified. Bill also serves on the board of the IAEE (Iowa Association for Energy Efficiency). He has over 25 years of sales and management experience. With this experience, Bill has developed skills to not only meet the customer’s expectations, but to exceed them. Bill graduated with a degree in psychology from the University of Northern Iowa.
ANGELA RENKEN, PROGRAM MANAGER, DES MOINES, IA
Angela joined A-TEC Energy in late 2008 as a rebate processing/customer service representative. Her “from the ground up” program knowledge combined with previously developed skill sets has lead her to a client management role. She began her career with A-TEC Energy by learning a variety of processes which have served her well. Her role has developed from rebate processing to managing an energy efficiency program for one of our clients. 20 years of working in real estate and manufacturing in various states, have provided her with excellent customer service, organizational and leadership skill. Angela is a native of Oregon but has the pleasure of living and working with some of the hardest working people here in the Midwest.
MARK VOSS, PROGRAM MANAGER AND MANAGER OF FIELD OPERATIONS
Mark joined A-TEC Energy in 2003; he started out as an Energy Auditor working primary with commercial and multifamily accounts. In 2010, he moved into the corporate office coordinating and supervising the field staff, working with residential and commercial assessments. In 2013, Mark was assigned additional management responsibility for the Residential Load Control and Non-Residential Rebate Programs. Prior to joining A-TEC Energy, he was a Senior Account Manager for a Fortune 100 consumer product company for 20 years. Mark graduated from the University of Northern Iowa.
LYNN SCHATTNER, TECHNOLOGY RESOURCES MANAGER
Lynn joined A-TEC Energy in early 2012. Lynn has been in the technology field since 1997, with a myriad of experience in critical up-time business and technology environments. He has a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Masters of Science in Information Systems and Technology Management with a specialization in Information Assurance and Security, and is currently working on his PhD in Information Technology with a specialization in Information Security. He is tasked with overseeing any technology related operations including planning, implementation, security, maintenance, governance, innovation, disaster recovery and business continuity. In his spare time, he is a licensed amateur radio operator tinkering with digital communications and interference detection aspects of the service.
JULIA DEAN, MANAGER OF ACCOUNTING AND HUMAN RESOURCES
Julia has been with A-TEC Energy since 2008. Julia is an integral part of the Accounting and Human Resource area. While she was formally trained in accounting concepts, Julia has also come from a background in the customer service sectors, giving her the ability to work with all types of people. Julia is detail oriented, always helpful and willing to adjust processes to meet the company, or the clients’ needs, as they may change through time. With ever changing legal requirements in the past few years, Julia stays current with new legislation and regulation pieces. Julia has earned a Bachelor Degree in Accounting from the University of Northern Iowa.
